Books written by Akihiro “Ike” Ikuhara, member of the Japan Baseball Hall of Fame
This book, “The Man Who Survived in Competition” is written by Akihiro “Ike” Ikuhara, Assistant to Dodger President Peter O’Malley, and the only Major League Baseball executive to be inducted into the Japan Baseball Hall of Fame. Ikuhara wrote two books in his career on his experiences in baseball and his travels internationally in support of O’Malley’s efforts to grow the game.
Akihiro “Ike” Ikuhara, longtime Assistant to the President of the Dodgers, Peter O’Malley, wrote this book in Japanese, “A Winning Tradition” about the operation and performance of the Dodgers. Ikuhara began working for the Dodgers in 1965 and rose to become Assistant to the President (1982-1992) before his passing. For his significant contributions to international baseball and in Japan, Ikuhara was inducted into the Japan Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002 and is the only Major League Baseball Executive to be a member at that hallowed institution.
