Baseball Stamps from Japan issued by the Japan Government/Stamps from Japan commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants
Commemorative stamps to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants are portrayed with stamps, including their 2004-2005 Manager and former pitcher Tsuneo Horiuchi. Japan Hall of Famer Horiuchi and the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants visited Dodgertown, Vero Beach, Florida in 1967, 1971, 1975 and 1981. The Giants are the most successful team in Japan with 22 Japan Series titles.
An assortment of Japan baseball stamps that honor some of the greatest moments and players in Japan baseball history, include Hall of Fame right-hander Eiji Sawamura of the Giants in the 20th Century stamp set. The Sawamura Award was named in his honor and is presented each season to the top pitcher in Nippon Professional Baseball.
