Assortment of Hideo Nomo Baseball Cards
1995
Hideo Nomo began his first season in Major League Baseball with the Dodgers in 1995. His successful first season started “Nomomania,” as baseball fans throughout the world were fascinated by the “Warrior” and his twisting, turning, pitching wind-up. Nomo was named starter for the 1995 All-Star Game, a rare feat for a rookie, and was elected 1995 National League Rookie of the Year. Throughout his long and historic career, Nomo played 12 seasons, including 7 with the Dodgers. Hundreds of different baseball cards were produced showing the first Japan-born player to reach the majors in 30 years. He wound up with 123 victories and was inducted into the Japan Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.
