Ron Cey

We (the players) would see him mostly in spring training, riding around in his golf cart. He was a very kind man. I talked to him many times. You could tell by our spring training facilities, which are by far the best in baseball, how much he thought of the players. His presence will always be felt, because of his kindness and because of the power and influence he had on baseball. We’ve lost someone who I’m sure is very dear to all of the players.
