Cartoonist Karl Hubenthal shows his light comedic touch as he lauds Walter O’Malley after the Proposition B referendum was passed by Los Angeles voters in June, 1958. The vote approved the city’s contract with the Dodgers, binding the Dodgers to build and pay for a 50,000-seat stadium. Hubenthal draws a statue of O’Malley showing the courage necessary to get the voters to approve a decision by the City of Los Angeles.
