Karl Hubenthal, famed Southern California artist and cartoonist, showed San Francisco Giants’ owner Horace Stoneham and Dodger President Walter O’Malley in possession of their own Easter eggs. San Francisco city officials had promised to build a municipal stadium for the Giants but O’Malley was having tremendous difficulties to build a stadium on his own in Los Angeles. Hubenthal wanted to show that the Giants may have been better off at the current moment with a municipal stadium, but in time, the wisdom, sagacity and courage of O’Malley built Dodger Stadium.
