The first known cartoon of Walter O’Malley appeared in a drawing in “Roll Call,” the yearbook of Culver Military Academy in Indiana. O’Malley entered Culver in 1920 and graduated in 1922 from the academy that is still active today. O’Malley is easily identifiable sitting in the chair with circular eyeglasses and swept back hair.
